Would anybody like to sponsor a community ICT suite in a school?

We are looking for a sponsor to equip a community based ICT suite in a school. The sponsor would benefit from their products being showcased in the suite together with advertisement in the local community.

Creating a Blog Community?

So my family and I would like to create a blog or something similar where we can all post healthy recipes and review it. Let others know what we think and what we may substitute in the future to make it better. What is a good website where we can set up our own blogging community? I have checked out several but have yet to find one that is user friendly and still customizable the way we would want it to be.

Yahoo! 360 - even with all it's glitches, it can do something that simple.

Technically, if you have a Yahoo ID, then you already have 360. It's one of Yahoo's free services that involves social networking and combines many Yahoo! services into one area. It stays dormant until you activate it. Check out an old press release that explains "What is Yahoo! 360?": http://docs.yahoo.com/docs/pr/release122... .

Everyone sets up their 360 space. Everyone connects to each other. Everyone makes their blog viewable and comment accessible by only their connected friends. Updates to the blogs show up on each other's "Home" pages. Everyone can comment on each other's blog entries that contains the recipes.

Setting up a website is going to take too much time. Just use what's already available to you. If you want the recipes all on one blog, then set up a new Yahoo ID and share the login information amongst the group. Although, when posting comments, each person would have to identify themselves.

I'm not sure what you mean by customizable, but you can create your own background, add multiple images, music, video to a 360 space. See my starred posts by clicking on my avatar and scrolling down to click on my "Starred Questions" tab, which explains how to do all of those things.

I would love to see the day when there are no more totally nonsense questions like "am I pretty?", "What should I have for lunch?", etc., etc., and instead just questions that someone truly needs an answer to, and questions that promote answers that will help others as well. I doubt that day will ever come.
There are two side to your question. One side would pertain to the "entertainment crowd" who would find another outlet for their puropse of Q%26amp;A which by and large has no value for the main purpose of why Yahoo created the database.

The other side would still be around giving and shareing useful information without the hassle of having to stop and send a violation report.
I have noticed that a great number of people answer stupid questions with stupid answers just to gain points. As you will see from my profile I will refuse to answer them. Here on Cape Cod, we have all different kinds of communities. I'm sure most places do. Looking in the paper for your local community events can show you which kinds of activities that are going on and joining an outing or two (usually most are only an hour or so) will show you what your town and it's people are all about. Go sit on your main street and watch the people go by, you can learn alot from their way of walking and holding themselves. (Make sure you say Hello, Good day, or nod your head). Everyone needs a smile, it actually will make them smile also, this also enriches the community. There is an old saying "It takes a whole village to raise a child". I guess this applies to all of us. We learn from all around us, our community, where we live.

I think this is one of those times where doing anything but applying the rules arbitrarily would cause so much debating and griping and "why was my question deleted and not his" that ultimately, Yahoo Answers would be an anarchic free-for-all. And I don't think that's something that anyone wants!

I had an answer deleted a few days ago because I was being blunt and the moderators thought I was being rude and unhelpful. I don't agree with their decision, but if I don't like it, I am free to stop coming here.
yeah i feel you on that. my husband has had that happened to him twice. just b/c people didn't like his question in religion yet there were plenty of racist and nasty questions posted a/b ours. it's amazing to me that others are allowed to say whatever they want while others are silenced i mean can we get a accurate reason or statement of how it violated the rules. i think it's all a/b the group mentality, but we should be able defend ourselves b/f they just yank our question out and you spend hrs. looking for it. that just blows.

Going to community collge to raise gpa?private myspace myspace.com

I guess it depends on the rules in your school system. In California, you typically have to either be a) a high school graduate, b) 18 years or older, or c) be approved by the school you're planning on going to to be exempt from the previous two requirements.

I don't think you can raise your high school gpa by taking community college classes 'cause remember, even though it's a community college, they're still college classes not high school classes. But if you do get approved, I do you'll be more attractive to the colleges having taken college classes.

Personally, I'd wait 'til I've completed my junior year before thinking about trying to take college classes. They're not as easy as you think; community college or otherwise.

I'd talk to your college counselor first if I were you before making any related decisions. They're the ones who are SUPPOSE to know the answers to these questions.

Which brings up another issue, I vote on undecided questions that have been tied up for a year.....ridiculous.

So far as your friend, I think the way most of the real offenders do it, is just to open a new account...they do not seem to pick up on that so quickly as they do bogus reports.

OK, venting over. thank you for asking my opinion.
We are all invited to participate in this forum but it is run by the Yahoo corporation and they make the decisions.
We tried yesterday, we all posted in support of our dear Dalek's appeal. However, it not only fell on deaf ears, but about 8 posts were completely deleted.

So, it looks like we are at their mercy and at the mercy of the trolls. Very sad, very said indeed.

Enjoy your day!
Its their sandbox... they decide who plays in it... it stinks..but that is the way we have to play the game...
Absolutely dick all, I'm afraid. We can post and appeal, and they just delete it.
Seriously, besides me, who crosses a Dalek?
Nothing much. Yahoo creates the rules/community guidelines (right or wrong) and they own the service. They can choose to deny service if they believe rules have been violated.

It really is that simple. I'm not happy about it either, but there are more important battles to fight in life.

Edit: LOL! I didn't realize your friend's reputation was so highly dependent on his/her standing on Yahoo. Tell your friend to create a new account and move on.

Med schools know there are good reasons to take classes at community colleges. They are, of course, less expensive, but they also have smaller class sizes, so there is a good chance students will get more individualized attention. Students also use community colleges to complete the basics but do more focused work in their fields later at four-year schools.

We often get the message the community colleges are lesser colleges, but in fact, they're great for many reasons and a good stepping stone to fabulous four-year schools and beyond.

Would MEDICAL schools look down on community college classes?myspace quotes myspace.com

Jennifer explained things perfectly, being a community college student does not put you at a disadvantage at all. Community colleges are usually looked down upon by students who go to sub-par universities and want to look down upon someone. You can get a great education at a community college and many students from community colleges go on to go to top20 colleges and ivy league universities. Oh yeah many students in med school start out at community colleges for their first two years.
Absolutely if you are talking about a good medical school. Are there med schools, law schools and doctorate programs you can get into after having previously gone to a community college before earning your Bachelor's degree? Yes. Are they top or even mid-level programs? No. The exception being if you are a minority student or from a disadvantaged background, then they'll overlook the community college.
Some will, some won't
Absolutely not. My best friend attended community college her first two years of college. She is very talented and she is a science major. While she attended community college she applied for a M.E.S.A scholarship and her next two years at U.C. Berkeley were paid for in full. She is currently at the University of Pennsylvania in med school after earning her Bachelors in Toxicology at Berkeley. She has also done cancer research at numerous U.C's throughout California.

Whats the difference between a community property state and a common law state for tax purposes?

Hello,

I am trying to determine personal and dependency exemptions for two different states:one common law state and another a community property state. Whats the difference between a community property state and a common law state for tax purposes? Can I claim someone as a dependent in one state while in the other I would not be able to?

Any clarification of this matter will be greatly appreciated.

thanks

Whats the difference between a community property state and a common law state for tax purposes?myspace tweaks

Dependents are not an issue. In a community property state, all property acquired by a married couple while living together is presumed to be owned by the "community" of the husband and wife unless they can show differently. Creditors can collect debts due from either spouse from communtiy property. In a non-community property state, income and assets are separate. There are good and bad points to either system.

Whats the difference between a community property state and a common law state for tax purposes?top 10 myspace myspace.com

I suspect you are saying common law when you mean common law marriage. Not much to say about the latter except that once the marriage is recognized, if the parties stay in the same state (or another state that recognizes it) they are married until they divorce.

A personal exemption is affected by CPS rules. Under community property rules, the w-2 of a spouse belongs 50-50 to each spouse. Thus if the two file MFS, each would declare 50% of the income and neither could claim the exemption of the other. In a non-CPS state, if one spouse has ZERO income, the other spouse may be able to claim their exemption on an MFS return.

Dependency is going to depend more on biology, where the dependent was living, etc. The IRS does say, once the relationship is established, you can continue to use a stepchild or inlaw relationship even if the marriage ends.
If you file a joint return there is no difference tax-wise.

In a community property state, each spouse has equal ownership of all assets and resources of the marital estate, including but not limited to real estate, income, personal property etc. They only maintain separate ownership of any assets that they brought into the marriage and, with some exceptions, property that is bequeathed to them. In general, if one buys property with the assets of the marital estate, BOTH acquire equal ownership of the property, and in most community property states that includes if they are not on the deed or title unless there is explicit wording on the deed or title that confers sole title. That usually requires the explicit consent of the other spouse.

As such, in a community property state if a couple files separate returns they each claim one-half of the total income of the marital estate and receive credit for one half of the total taxes paid or withheld on their separate returns. If both parties have equal or nearly equal income the point may be moot but their incomes are widely divergent the tax impact can be significant,

In a common law state, each spouse maintains ownership of their individual property regardless of when it was acquired. Only property purchased in joint title is the property of both spouses.

In a common law state when a couple files separate returns they each claim only their own income and take credit for the taxes that they personally paid or had withheld from their own wages. The other spouse's income is irrelevant to thier own tax return.

Whats better, a community college, a college or a university?

i am currently a junior (11 grade high school) and i am starting to investigate about college, community college, university. could you please detail what is the diference between these three and what is the best option for me in the state of california?

Whats better, a community college, a college or a university?myspace graphics

Which is better; apples, grapes, or television?

Same sort of question really. It depends entirely upon what you want.

A community college is both a lower level college and a vocational/technical college. It's the right place to go if you want to learn to be a welder, auto mechanic, bookkeeper, medical equipment repairer, etc... as well as a good local place to take the lower two years of a four year degree. If you want to be an LPN or hairstylist, you go to the community college. Community college tends to be about learning "how".

In the US, college and university are used interchangeably. Traditionally, a university is made up of a number of smaller colleges, offers higher/professional degrees, and conducts research. These days, almost everyone wants to call themself a university. You attend these to study academic subjects ("why") leading to bachelor's, master's, and doctorate degrees. Some jobs require a degree at this level (such a school teacher) while some people study at this level simply to "learn cool stuff". Many jobs require a degree at this level but don't care what the degree is in (management, sales, etc...) while other jobs require a specific degree such as engineering, law, or medicine.

The real question is not which type of school is best for you. You've put the buggy in front of the horse. Decide what occupation you are interested in first and then find out what education is required for that occupation. Once you know what education you need for your occupation, then determine where people go to get that. ?

Whats better, a community college, a college or a university?real world myspace myspace.com

Colleges and universities are better than community colleges, unless you're in deep financial difficulty and don't have good enough grades to get a scholarship. Luckily for you, California has an amazing public higher education system. The best options for you are the UC's.
The difference between a college and a university is that a college is smaller and is only undergrad, whereas a university is much bigger and includes a graduate school. A community college should really be your absolute last option--if you can't get in ANYWHERE else--because they are simply not seen as reputable in the career world (or by people in society in general.)

Many people think that colleges are better because they are smaller, which means smaller classes and therefore more interaction with and attention from professors. But universities are wonderful too--it really depends on your preference.

The best schools in Cali are UC Berkeley, Stanford, UCLA, USC, and Pomona.
University/College %26gt; Community College

Best schools in California in order

Stanford, UCB, Pomona, Harvey Mudd College, Claremont McKenna College, UCLA, USC
2-years college = community college = Junior college

4-years college = university

2-years college is damn cheap, and classes are small. Warm educational environment lol...junior college or 2 years college is good but not as good as university because of academic program. But it is not that bad.

University is highly expensive, but financial problem is not the problem. When you go to 2-years college, you get very little amount of grants. Even though university is expensive, the amount of grants is also high.

There are three systems of universities:

1. California State University system: it is not bad but I am not a fan of this system. Honestly speaking, it ranks the lowest among the three. But the tuition is cheapest among the three.

2. University of California or UC system: They are super! lol...The best one is UC Berkeley and Second is UCLA. I am a fan of these two schools.

3. Private University: It depends but USC is a good example. USC ranks lower than UCLA and UC Berkeley and it is much expensive than UC. But it has many scholarships.

My recommendations for UC are: UCLA, UC Berkeley, UC Irvine, UC San Deigo, and UC San Fransisco.

But Cal State Uni in Long Beach has pretty great Nursing program. Some nursing students go for Cal State Long Beach rather than UC.

Tell you 1 thing, if you go to community college, you will have better chance to transfer to UC because you just take all required courses with good grades, bravo! you will transfer successfully. If you get into honors program or TAP Program in community college, 98% to get accepted into UC.

The most complicated thing is to get accepted to UC from high school because they require you take AP courses, very high SAT scores, and maintain great GPA with admission essay.

Well, for me, I am going to private university. I like Johns Hopkins University the most because my major is Biomedical Engineering.

Why can't I have a community at MyWeb 2.0 when I'm under 18?

Why can't I have a community at Yahoo! MyWeb 2.0 ( http://myweb2.search.yahoo.com/ )? I mean, come on! I'm under 18, allright (turn 18 in three months), but it's a link sharing/community based searching service! It's ridiculous that I can't have ?trused friends? when I'm under 18... That policy is nothing else than shallow!

And if there's no way to change it, I'd really like to know how I could change my birthdate registered with Yahoo!?

Why can't I have a community at MyWeb 2.0 when I'm under 18?myspace jokes

Currently, My Web 2.0 registrations are tied to Yahoo! 360 registrations. Those do not permit users under the age of 18. The policy is not because we don't trust minors to have "trusted friends"--that _would_ be silly. We're required to have it due to legal restrictions in the United States regarding what types of content people under 18 may be exposed to. Some portions of Yahoo! address that by having posters mark their content as "adults only;" others, like Y! 360, address it with a flat age limit.

We recognize that there are problems in having this tie to Yahoo 360's user registration process, including the one you mention. (Nothing against Y! 360; it and My Web just have somewhat different technical needs.) We've been working on a fix, and we will have a different basis for user registration in an upcoming release of My Web 2.0.

Why can't I have a community at MyWeb 2.0 when I'm under 18?how to view private myspace myspace.com

You cannot change your birthdate for your Yahoo! ID, for the very reason mentioned above. Yahoo! does not encourage you to use services which are legally restricted to minors. The above explanation should satisfy you, but there are plenty of other things to do online.

Does the black community really care what Imus said....?

To start with I'm a 27 year old white male. I believe that all races were created equal and what we do is entirely based on upbringing and personal choices. In my professional life I have people of all races report to me and some of my direct supervisors are of different races. In my personal life I have had friends of all races.

Now that I got that out of the way, I was wondering if the majority of the black community really cared what Imus said about that women’s team? I’m not a big fan of Imus, but it was obviously a joke. If he was a black man and he called a group of white women pimply faced crackers, do you think we would see the same outrage and eventual dismissal?

Its political correctness turned upside down. If it was a black person who said that about white people no1 would even care. Look at any chris rock show, or any other black comedy. Its blatant outright racism. I think Imus is the sad target of paranoia.
First of All its a double standard. If 50 cent raps about Hoes, and says n i g g a all the time well hes safe because hes black. If he says Craka, nothing happens. If he says i hate crakas, wel "hes being oppressed by white people". If Don Imus says Those are some nappy headed hoes, well hes a racist, bigot...blah blah. He gets fired and has to meet with Al Sharpton who is the BIGGEST racist. And Jessie Jackson who defended that Black bit ch in Durham who occused those white kids of raping her, even before the facts came out? I hope those white kids sue THE **** out of that black girl, and i hope DON IMUS sues the **** out of the TV station for firing him for freedom of speech! This **** is insane and overboard. Black people need to lighten up, OR if they are going to impose such views for white people...they need to do the same for Themselves! If you dont want Whites using N i g g a or HOES then dont use it yourself!!!! No double standards!
Yes, the African American community cared, and a lot of others did too. It was not a joke, it was mean and uncalled for, and I would feel the same if the comments/ethnic groups were reversed.
Just like you I did not know who Don Imus was until the report came up in the news! I am a news fanatic so when I heard the story my first response was "Oh well" then as it came up on the different news stations, my opinion became that of "That is between him and the girls of that b-ball team!"

Your question was?

Does the black community really care what Imus said

My answer is no! Even though I don't speak for all black people.

I believe in the fact that the majority of Americans really don't watch the news, so you can imagine the number black Americans, that don't or listen to Talk radio.

America is unfortunately a country that is very mis-informed or lives in ignorance.

My friends and family when they were told of the story asked who is Don Imus? then they shrugged there shoulders!

The real issue with Don Imus is he has been on the air for about 40 years and he was offensive to a lot people! He was also loved and admired by many. This is really a bigger issue than what we are seeing played out here. This basket-ball team was an excuse to get Imus off the air. They are not the real reason why he lost his job.

The real reason has to do with politics and Dick Cheney!

Don't believe the Hype!
The black community is in the middle of a fight for their kid's grandkid's etc, etc,'s equality. Of course they care when pple make racist comments on the airways. It seems like everytime they get one step forward we pull them back two steps. Would you call Rosa Parks "nappy headed"? She's a national treasure!! Hate can only stop when those who spread it recognize their problem. We invite all pple into this country- just to ridicule and suppress them!! Ghandi is spinnin in his grave.
I be honest wid yo cracka self. I care less what Imus be sayin, but I like havin da power to bring whitey down.
It's high time that many people

became aware of the following fact:

There is absolutely *no such thing* as a

American Association of Community Colleges - accreditation standards?

please help me find the link to the association of colleges that is trying to standardize community college cirriculum so that courses transfer to 4-year institutions. This may be an Ohio association but I thought it was America wide.

American Association of Community Colleges - accreditation standards?myspace quizzes

The American Association of Community Colleges and the American Association of State Colleges and Universities are involved in a joint project to make access to a four-year degree easier for community college students. You can see the information about this at their project website:

http://www.pathtocollege.org/

Now, I'm not sure that this is really what you are asking about. It is not typical for national organizations like this to attempt to standardize curricula on a national level. On a statewide basis, though, many states have worked to develop agreements between community colleges and state colleges and universities that make transfer of coursework easier. Often called articulation agreements, these agreements between the state's community college system and the state university system help students in community college know in advance what courses will transfer from community colleges to the four year college.

If you are interested in Ohio, it doesn't look like they have a systemwide articulation agreement with all colleges, but that individual community colleges make articulation agreements with individual colleges in the state. Look at this link for a list of articulation agreements:

http://www.regents.state.oh.us/hei/trans...

Its not the easiest information to understand. Take a look at North Carolina's articulation agreement, which covers all community colleges and state colleges and universities. It is much easier for students to understand:

http://www.ncccs.cc.nc.us/Articulation/C...

If you are a community college student right now and you are interested in transferring to a four year college, I suggest that you contact the admissions department in the four year colleges that you are interested in and ask about their specific articulation agreement.

Hope this helps!

Community colleges are a great place to learn and ease into college. Just because you start there doesn't mean that you won't be successful. This is an often used route for young people for financial reasons. I do not think it would be held against you.
Many students do this. Grad schools will look at your overall GPA with special attention paid to upper division classes. They will not look at how you were admitted to the university.
Where you graduate is more important, but you need to keep up a high GPA at the community college. Many students take the transfer route out of financial need, so post-grad admissions officer and HR departments know it isn't necessarily a sign of lower aptitude or effort.

Bala sharks are generally peaceful, and very easy to care for. I had two balas in with my tetras and the tetras actually harrassed the balas. The only downside to Balas are they grow BIG - up to 16" and they need a LOT of room, a tight fitting cover (they jump!) and some live plants to be comfortable. Unless you've got at least a 55 gallon tank, I wouldn't suggest you getting them. What would be even better would be to get a 55 gallon for just a pair of Balas and enjoy them that way.

Physics program in community colleges?

any strong physics programs in US community college? Which is the best?

Physics program in community colleges?unblock myspace

Community colleges typically only teach up to the 2nd year level so there's only so many physics courses you can take and all at the introductory level. The most are common are general relativity in the first semester ,and electricity/magnetism in the second. Some may have a third semester composing of modern physics (quantum mechanics) but it's rarely offered due to the high level of math prereqs required (calculus 3-4), resulting in very low enrollment since people transfer out by the time they have reached that level. You should attend a full university program if you want to take deep studies within physics as all the in-depth courses will be at the upper divison level.

why did you ask the same question twice? if you are from a different country-they issue a warrant in the US-when you come into the country again-you will be arrested for failure to appear in court.
You have to do whatever the Judge orders you to do.

I concur with Teebs. Grossmont is the better school. The curriculumn ther has been masterfully designed totransfer credit to a UC or CSU school very easily. A lot of SDSU and UCSD students go to Grossmount to take classes that would usually be impacted and more costly to attend in the respective universities.

I went there many moons ago while attending SDSU at the same time. Grossmount was sometimes called little SDSU.

21 year old community college student wants to play college golf?

Hi im currently a 21 year old and I am attending a Community college trying to obtain my associates degree(yes i know im slow but at least im going to school)

Just recently I started to play golf again with great enthusiasm, im currently playing 5-6 days a week now and want to play more only taking time off to let my muscles rest. I started golf around 10-11 and played a lot until 14-15 competed in lots of local junior tournaments (never won but placed top3 a lot) I played half a year of high school golf before moving to Texas from California. After the move I completely stopped playing golf because of financial/other reasons, but now 6 years later something got into me and I want to play again. When I was 15 I shot anywhere from 75-85, now after 1.5 weeks of playing again my scores are anywhere from 80-83(I plan to consistently break 80 within a month)

I was wondering if its possible for someone in my situation to get involved in any college program and where one can be found.

you would have to have a handicap of 2 or better maybe 3-4 or better best case depending on the school - I'm a 10 handicap and it would take a whole lot of practice and consistency to get down to a 2 handicap - even with a 2 handicap you would need some type of grades and a resume of amateur successes to try and get a scholarship - if you are planning to walk on at a 4 year school, why not try to play at the junior college you are at now and see if you can improve enough to play at a big school?

21 year old community college student wants to play college golf?fake myspace myspace.com

Go ahead and try out at least. Don't be afraid to go and try it. What do you have to lose, the worst that they can say is no.

Make sure you practice, practice, practice up to the day of the try outs. If the coaches see you are improving and are working hard and are dedicated to the sport, then you have a great chance at making the team.

Until tryouts you need to eat, sleep, and breathe golf.
Well I think that you are going to find that you might have a chance playing for a Div. 3 college and maybe a Div. 2 school. It is hard to say because most of the schools don't have a lot of tryouts because golf is so small that the coach is able to recruit most of his team. I would say that you should try and talk to as many of the coaches as you can, they will give you the best answer because they are the coaches. Also since you already have 2 years of college you are going to have a hard time finding a team, since you only have 3 years of eligibility one of which will be a red shirt year and you can't compete. I would say start at Div. 3 schools and add some Div. 2 schools. i wouldn't try and get a Div. 1 school because you really don't have a chance. For example most Div. 1 players have a very very low handicap, probably under a 4 at most. I mean there are colleges out there that you might have a chance to play for but what is the point of going to a Div. 1 college if they are ranked 100th when you can go to a Div. 2 school that is ranked much higher? You might say well its a Div 2 school but the fact is it is going to be much better than a bad Div 1 school. If you know what you handicap is you can get a better idea of how you stack up. I would say most DIv. 1 players have a low single digit handicap on a course that has a slope rating of at least 135 with most being higher. It is great that you are trying and I hope that you find a school to play for.

If you did community service, are you convicted?

My car broke down and I needed a new engine which was $2300. I had about $2000 in my bank account but wrote the check for $2300 knowing that I was getting paid in a week and I would be covered. The machanic deposited the check the same day and a few days later called the cops because the check bounced. He called me afterwards and told me that he called the cops and I in turn told him I'd come and pay him cash. So I paid him cash, got a receipt and everything but the State still pressed charges against me even though the mechanic asked to have the charges dropped.

So technically it's a class 4 felony but I didnt go to jail or anything, I just had to do 20 hours of community service and pay a fine of $200. Does this mean I was convicted? Not sure if it'll help but it happened in the Kane County, Illinois.

If you did community service, are you convicted?view myspace

I can't tell if you were convicted. You could have gotten a deferred sentence on the condition you do community service. A "deferred sentence" means that if you do what you were ordered to do and don't get into any more trouble for roughly 6 month (that time period can vary), the whole incident is expunged. When the deferred sentence period is over, it is as though it never happened. Frankly, this sounds a lot like a deferred sentence. You need to check your final judgment from the Court. You may be able to tell from your state's judicial website. Google Illinois state judiciary and go to case look-up. Type in your name and see what you can find. If that doesn't work, that could be an indication of a deferred sentence. They do not show up on the web site after the deferment period is over. Otherwise, call the atty who represented you and ask for a copy of the judgment. Alternatively, go to the Court Clerk's office and look.

Unfortunately, you are an ex-con. It's a crime to knowingly pass a bad check in a lot of states. It's amazing that they prosecuted you, but turn their backs to dangerous criminals. I empathize.

You should petition the court to have your record expunged, I'm sure it would cost a fortune, but you might want your record cleared at some point.
I would say yes unless the judge said specifically that it would not go on your record.
i'm not sure about your state, but where i'm from if you do community service and pay a fine, than yes you are convicted, unless the court stated that upon completion of community service and paying the fine that your case would be dismissed. contact the court to see what the situation is and also, ask about expungement( removal of criminal history)

A study of community college enrollments in a certain state find that 60% of students are younger than 20.?my myspace

The expected value (mean) of a binomial distribution is np, where n is the number in the sample and p is the probability of success.

Expected value = (15)(.20) = 3

The standard deviation is sqrt(np(1-p)).

SD = sqrt(15(.20)(.80))

= sqrt(2.4)

= 1.54919334

Sims university community lots?

i am trying to meet 3 socitey memebers and beome their friends but every time i go to a community lot its always under construction and it wants me to build something what do i do?

Sims university community lots?myspace cursors

Is it the same lot everytime or is it every community lot you try to visit? And did you build it or did it come pre-built with the game?

Hmm... I've never encountered this problem but my first suggestion is that you download the university patch if you havn't already. Let me know if that fixes it or if you already downloaded it. If you have open for business, download that patch too.

Sims university community lots?myspace.com quizzes myspace.com

build something
Hmmmm... That's a new one to me too.

Have you tried going to the lots in build mode and then check all the construction for missing stuff(doors, phonebooth, etc etc. community lots need to have a phone booth to work) and then save the lot.

Have you downloaded any custom content?

You may have gotten a bug.

Try looking on the sims2 web site, there may be some information about this in the forums there.

Hate to say it, but if you try the patches that diet_smartie listed above and they don't work, you may have to dump the game and reinstall everything.

Bit of a sweeping statement, wouldn't you say?

South African Transgendered Community ...why very few???

folks from the above community are hardly ever to be found in these forums?? :o(

South African Transgendered Community ...why very few???www myspaces

South African transgendered people are a minority of a minority of a minority. They are gay, which puts them into a world that predominantly stresses the white gay male. Transgendered people are a minority in this community, and black transgendered people are an even smaller minority. There are probably a lot of black gay men or black transgendered people who just haven't been able to "come out" due to the Church-based nature of the African American Community. African Americans have, since slavery and throughout segregation, supported each other through the Church network. This is why the Church is also a fundamental part of African American life. To come out for a black man, especially a black transgendered person, means the very real possibility of having to leave behind your community to enter into another one, one where you will also be an even smaller minority.

When convicted of a DUI in a county you do not live in, do you still have to perform community service in the county that you offended?

This is in North Carolina.

In CA, they transfer your service, to make it easier on you.

Just tell them that you have a full time job and no free time, making it impossible for you to travel.

But then again, I don't know how North Carolina is. Good Luck.

check with your local sheriff's office
Just quit drinking and driving. If you can't do the time, don't do the crime. Do your community service and shut up about it!
That is all up to the district attorney and judge. There has to be a way that you could perform some kind of service for the state in general within your own county. That is something you, or your lawyer, will need to ask the district attorney. Good luck.
why did you ask the same question twice? if you are from a different country-they issue a warrant in the US-when you come into the country again-you will be arrested for failure to appear in court.
You have to do whatever the Judge orders you to do.
In Illinois they will transfer the community service to your home county.

Age gaps within the homosexual community?

Another observation I found astounding was the huge age differences. I noticed males in their 50s and 60s looking for males some 30+ years their junior. Is this the norm?

With hetrosexuals we only have age gaps of maybe 3-4 years for a partner or sexual contacts.

I saw quite alot of differences in this community compared with the hetrosexual community. So it is much more than just being attracted to the same sex. It seems to be a completley different way they interact in many ways.

Age gaps within the homosexual community?icons for myspace

ive noticed this too, and i personally dont understand it, but watever makes ppl happy!!! : )

Age gaps within the homosexual community?hidden myspace myspace.com

This is the 2nd question about this that I have seen here in 2 mos. Makes me think I really must live in a bubble.

All my gay couple friends have around 2 - 5 years difference between them. I'm talking average. Plus I do know lots of older guys, both single and coupled, and they aren't interested in younger guys at all -- their own age or as close as they can get is what they like.

But yes, being gay is more than jsut being attracted to the same sex. Back in the 60s they used to say "A gay man is not a straight man who happens to like men."

I think that is totally true.
Really, from what I've seen a lot of older heterosexual men in their 50's-60's have tried to get with women who just turned 18.
Its a lot not alot.
Which heterosexuals and homosexuals are you talking about?

Three of my friends are married to their partner who is 10+ years older or younger than them, and they are heterosexual.

Not to mention that I am constantly hit on by forty-year old men... one time I was hit on by a sixty to seventy year old man which was just a wee bit creepy.
They are worse among the heterosexual community imho.
We are not freaks of nature that "interact" with one another! We have feelings and lovers and jokes and we are normal! Gay people don't always look for people 20 or 30 years younger, thats nonsense! My fathers are less then 3 years apart from one another, and i just don't understand your prejudices about gay people and their age distance from their partners! Just let us, do what we want!

by the way, im a bisexual myself. That's why this really got me aggravated!
My grandfather and grandmother on my father's side were 10 years apart (he died when I was 2). My mother and father are only 3 months apart age wise. It depends upon the individual greatly. There are lots of creepy old guys trying to get with the hot young girls, I assure you.

Again, like the last question, you observed this on a dating site? That does -not- encompass the entire community. You're being silly.
i know alot of gay couples all in close age

maybe your referring to random experiences or something
My Grandmother is 54 dating a man in his 70's. It isn't that rare in the straight community either.

My step-grandpa (that my grandmother is now divorcing) is still in his late 40's.

My mom was in her early 30's and was engaged to a man in his late 40's.

A guy that tried to hook up with my mom is 20 and my mom is 36. (She wouldn't date him)
3-4 years? Where do you live and who do you socialize with?

It seems to be pretty even to me. Old men like to date younger partners. In heteros, they are young females, in homos, they are male. I think it is just more visible to you because the age difference is accepted with heteros. The term "sugar daddy" didn't exactly come out of the homosexual community.

Just think of Hefner and those bunnies.
There are great age gaps in couples of all sexual orientation. I could go on and on listing hetero couples who date/marry partners of vastly different ages.

I guess I wonder what you are really trying to get at with your question??
Older homosexual males look for younger homosexual male partners only because the younger generations of gays are more likely to be open about it, therefore they are more likely to find a partner. A lot of gay men in their 50's and 60's today either are still in the closet, or choose to live alone, not part of the gay community for whatever reasons.
I believe you are living in a sheltered world. In straight scenes, it is very common for older men to be married to much younger women, and not that uncommon (today) to see much older women married to young men....it isn't the age that matters as much as the inner person today.

In Gay society, many younger men LIKE the fact that older men know men's bodies, take their time, are kinder, more patient, and usually far better lovers than are younger men...young men seem to like to get off in a hurry, older men like to string it out...and many younger guys are just discovering the pleasures that this brings. BUT, in general, I don't see younger men flocking to older men, any more than I see younger women flocking to older men...Younger men may love sex with an older, more experienced man, but as for lovers, the odds are that the sampling of Straights to Gays, considering the ratios of Straights to Gays, is probably about the same. There are just people who prefer seriously older mates, period, on both sides of the fence.

And, there is a more pervasive logic going on here that you may or may not know about. Many younger gay men are hooked on Crystal Meth...and that drug makes it almost impossible to get off...it takes serious time! Guys who like to PNP love older men who take it slow and easy, and in fact, many of the Tina users are happy enough if it just goes on all night, no one ever ending. I suspect that is also a reason that older men are so popular today. AND, older guys are usually tops! Guys on Crystal Meth cannot get it up, so they are on bottom, loving every second, minute, etc. of an older top who can get it up and keep it up without the finale happening too soon. There is much reasoning going on that you are unaware of here, and this is an insight for you. I am an older gay man...I know what I am talking about. 20-30 year olds are constantly emailing me for sex....I do not particularly like seriously younger guys..they do not excite me, for they lack experience in sensuality. And, personally, I do not like sex with guys who PNP....it is boring, being kind...and sex should never be boring.

Perhaps Gays see beyond young skin and look into serious pleasure. We do not have to "show off our trophies" as so many older Straight men do...Younger guys are NOT the trophies they may think they are, and neither are younger women...they are just people and should be treated as a person, not an object. Peace from Goldwing
It's not a gay vs straight thing.

It is a MALE thing. Straight men ARE also attracted to much younger women and there is even the popular "school girl" fantasy many straight men have. Look at how many old decrepit men were lusting over Britney Spears when she just came out. Look at all the sugar daddies with girls young enough to be their daughter or granddaughter.

In general men seem to have a harder time making a distinction once a young person becomes sexually mature. They are attracted to visual stimulus, so if it LOOKS old enough, men tend to go for it.

Women on the other hand are attracted to emotional stimulus and that is harder to disguise if you are emotionally immature. Plus women tend to hold on to a more maternal approach to a younger person.

But lately, some women are going after young male students, so that might be changing.
No big age gaps aren't the "norm" some older men I guess just want to get back in touch with the kid inside them with younger guys.. or the younger guy just wants a sugar daddy... I don't agree with your hetro age gaps of only 3-4 years... I've seen and heard quite a few with rather large age gaps between husband %26amp; wife.

Does the gay community find the Chuck and Larry movie offensive?

I just saw that new movie Chuck and Larry and a few things in the movie seemed like it would be offensive to the gay community. I am bi myself and i thought a few things were a bit offensive. But at the same time there was a lot of things that make it okay. So im just wondering if people found it offensive.

Does the gay community find the Chuck and Larry movie offensive?myspace tweaks

I don't think so. In my opinion, I think it was a funny, lighthearted movie that just shows that gay couples are just regular people who happen to love each other. The scene when they are outside of the club and the minister is yelling horrible things at them, I got chills. When he called Adam Sandler a ******, ugh I felt my blood boil, I can't believe theres really people out there who are so quick to judge and label!! It made me realize how some people can be so ignorant and speak out (ignorantly) about something they have no clue about, and is frankly none of their business. I think it sent out a positive message, I loved it.

Does the gay community find the Chuck and Larry movie offensive?top 10 myspace myspace.com

Uh, I wouldn't think it would.
yes, it is offensive. It's just making fun of gays by putting unknowledgable jokes and scene's to make people laugh and earn millions of dollars and by causing this it's getting people laughing and then going into the streets and saying to a gay couple "hey, you gay lord" that just wrong.
Why should it be? PC has gone mad in this world. Everyone needs to lighten up and grow up!

+
I thought the preview was pretty funny, actually. I never saw the movie.

I am bi, but I still don't understand why people would find this offensive. Sure, this makes me look like a pervert, but it was funny and that's what I look for in a movie.
Not in the least little bit - it is just a movie!
I don't think it's offensive. I think it at least we are getting our lifestyle into movie theaters. Sure, it's a bit of a crude start, but we have to start somewhere.
I haven't seen the movie yet, but i am dying to. I think that no matter what is in the movie that may be offensive to some, the important part of this is exposure. If GLBT people are at least remotely in the spotlight i think that is a champion for our cause. People need to see that it is exceptable, and while the movie may/maynot portray that, it is at least getting some facts out. It is bringing it to the forfront of peoples minds. I saw a show last night when i was flipping channels, and two guys were kissing... on ABC.. I was floored but than i thought about it... this is a real life issue that people deal with every day.... Lesbians are always giving glowing parts because of the guy attraction to that... men are underrepresented in pop culture... i applaud someone for makeing a motion picture that shows the hardships that people go through in dealing with the legal system... and show that two guys getting married should always be an option...
i haven't watched it but comedy is meant to take off people and then over exaggerate it. come on honestly how many people have laughed at white men jokes or black men jokes, funny accents, gay people, fat people etc. it's light hearted and if they to the mick out of bi people like myself i would laugh even louder!
I want to see it yet. The review in the paper last week paints an entirely different theme than the comedy presented in the teasers, that it's at least as much about gay discrimination as it is about Adam Sandler's hyper-straight character trying to act gay.

It's okay to do campaigning message movies, but if they're going to get the message to the masses, first you have to get the masses to watch. That ain't easy.

Things could be better? Sure. Put your money where your heart is: donate to your local schools' creative writing program. Get more scripts out there to choose from.
I hope it's better then it looks. I don't think I would want to sit through 90 minutes of Adam Sandler trying not to look at women, while pretending to be gay. BORING!
I saw it Friday night and I don't see how it could. Yes they make jokes, but, they also point out real situations on how they are targeted and discriminated against (i wont reveal any parts of the movie).

I read an article yesterday about two gay firefighters from NY that said they did point out things that gay men and women have to deal with in their everyday life. They hope the film may open the eyes of some.
lol who cares its a movie, if people start getting mad at movies, then they have WAYYY to much time on there hands! thats just stupid! Better be careful with making movies if the gays might get mad!!!!

PPPSSSSHHHHH!!!
The super macho films have much more anti gay stuff . The comedies are pretty harmless .
Yes, I heard that a lot of people think it's antigay. That's ridiculous. I just saw it myself and and didn't really find it anything like that. To me, it's a movie about just being who you are.

People don't need to talk until they see the movies they want to critisize.

What should hearing community have knowledge about deaf culture and ASL?

Are the hearing people realizing that deaf are welcome in hearing community? what if they cant communicate sign lanuage? How does Deaf woman feel?

What should hearing community have knowledge about deaf culture and ASL?hidden myspace

Well, I think this situation would be compared to someone living or visiting a country in which they don't speak the native language. If you went to france but didn't know a lick of french, wouldn't it be great if someone started speaking English to you? Most deaf people are very glad to have hearing people learning their language. They will usually take the time to try to talk with you because they are so grateful that someone out there besides other deaf people know what the heck they're saying!! I love talking to deaf people. I am taking a class in American Sign Language and my teacher and a fellow student are both deaf. If they can't understand what I'm signing, they'll ask me to clarify. If I dont' know the sign for something or sign something wrong, they'll correct me. And not in a rude way, they'll just show me the correct way. I think more people should learn sign language!! It should be a requirement for all Doctors to know some basic signs for emergencies when it will take some time for an interpreter to get there.

Today, not many people know anything or very much about sign language or deaf culture. They should know more though.

Can you ask community members?

Hi answerer's.

Can you ask the community members to go vote on unresolved questions? Give the name of a person that didn't bother to return a best answer? So now it's in voting stacking up ( I have some that are like 4 months old now). I shall return %26amp; give a best answer or what I feel is the best answer. Thanks

Can you ask community members?guy myspace

I think it is OK as long you do not suggest which one to be voted otherwise it will be considered "point gaming/solicitation" which is in violation of community guidelines.

Can you ask community members?plain myspace myspace.com

It is my opinion that if someone took the time to answer a question that I asked, then I should choose a best answer. I choose an answer based on 2 reasons:

1. Does the answer address my question? and 2. I think it is just common courtesy to respond with a best answer.

I understand that not everyone can give a best answer right away, but I always try to within a day or so of asking my question. What it comes down to, is that I appreciate the people who respond to my questions and want to reward the great answers that I receive.

PS I agree with Exo, I think it is ok as long as you are not telling people to vote for a specific person's answer.
You have to use a Question and Answer format on this site. You can't simply suggest that people vote on unresolved questions (which is not a question), or post links to unresolved questions and ask for votes (which is considered soliciting).
