When you fill out the fafsa, the gov't will review it and give you $ if your family cannot afford it. I got grants to cover from the gov't to cover my education, so yes, comm college for me was free

However, even if you do pay, compared to 4 year schools, its a bargain!

No sorry nothing of value in this world comes for free. If someone tells you that they have something of value for free there is always a catch and you need to look at why they would want to give you something for nothing more then likely that is what it is worth.
its about next to free, i am paying about 600 for 12hrs, which i was paying about 4,000 for 12 hrs at a larger university
