Now I know the gay community is often ignored in politics because, let's be honest, they've never really swung an election significantly in a certain direction in a key state before. However, elections have been getting interesting circa 2000, so I ask you, which candidate do you think the Gay Community will support in the 2008 election?
I only ask that you guys please do not choose the democrat because they are a democrat and hate the republican because they are a republican.
I shall remind everyone that both candidates support Gay unions, thus making both party frontrunners (Clinton and Giuliani) SOMEWHAT gay supportive. It is interesting to note that Hillary has actually taken a more ANTI Gay union stance than the Republican candidate Giuliani.
So with that being said, is the gay union thing a deciding issue for who you plan to vote into office? If it is, how are you deciding who to vote for since theyre both "gay friendly," with Giuliani having the edge on Clinton?
Which candidate is the gay community going to choose?
Believe it or not, the gay "community" is a VERY diverse group and "we" are not going to all be voting for the same candidate.
While many of us do pay attention to a candidates stand on "gay" issues, we also are concerned about the war, pollution, global warming, health care, education, children's issues, senior citizen issues, medicare, Social Security and the list goes on.
The problem is neither party has decent answers for everything and all Americans need to decide what is MOST important for the future of the USA, them self and their loved ones. For me it is then environment and children's issues.
If we do not take care of the planet, we will kill all of us off and have no place to live. If we do not take better care of the children, we do not have a future. So war, taxes, bigotry, immigration, gay marriage, terrorism or anything else won't matter anyway.
MANY of the other issues could be dealt with if people would act more like grown ups and like Jesus told us to be. Treat others the way you want to be treated. The terrorists would not hate us so much if they had been given a little more consideration over the last 30+ years and better diplomacy used. Instead we've treated them like animals so now they act like animals.
So when you vote, think about the one or two issues that mean the most to you and vote for the candidate that best matches what you want.

I think it's all a joke, yo!
Giulliani wants to do away with a women's choice on abortion. I won't vote for him!
I support Ron Paul.
is brackobhoma gay freindly hope so i want him to be president
I'm thinking Hillary, for lots of reasons.I'm thinking there are enough voters out there that she might just do it. If she's up against Mitt Romney it will be close, any other republican candidate and she'll walk away with it. That's what i'm thinking.
Where is this homosexual "community" I hear so much about?
I didn't feel any of the candidates had really stong answers on the civil union issue. (Hillary disappointed me) I believe it will be a toss up.
Ron Paul
What I don't really understand is why gay people are making such a large fuss over unions. I'm gay and I don't think it's that huge of a deal as people are making it.
Frankly speaking, 27 states have already adopted laws that clarify that marriage is only between a man and a woman and more states are trying to pass that too. I really don't think our federal government has enough people who will vote for it in Congress. I just don't know if it's entirely possible to make this happen in this election. I'm a Democrat, but I just don't think that enough Democrats will stay with the party on a vote like this.
I'll be able to vote in this coming election, and I will vote for the Democrat that's running. It's not so much an issue with the gay community as it is who I believe shares my opinions. The gay community will obviously back the Democrat. If they backed a Republican, it would be harder for them to gain the rights they want the government to give them. They want gay marriage, and a Republican, even Giuliani, probably won't give it to them even if Congress passes it. He wouldn't split with his party on that. He would face so much scrutiny from the Republican party.
The gay union issue, for me, is one of the least important issues. It is being made to be a wedge issue in the fight for presidency when it shouldn't be. I really don't think it's as important and people are making it. We should be worrying about Iraq, universal health care, and the education system before we even begin to address gay marriage.
I would love for a president to be for gay marriage or at least a civil union, but for me that's not the issue swaying my vote. I think Hillary needs another chance, she did pretty good the last time! : )
Gays aren't interested in Politicians. They're interested in Lobbyists %26amp; warping laws to suit their own best interests.
Clinton and Giuliani are two heads of the same monster. We need someone new, who doesn't worry about stupid "PC-terms" for people and worries about important issues. Marriage is a moral issue and at the same time a religious one. It is as wrong for the state to force a church to marry a gay person, as it is for a state to ban gay marriage. Ron Pauls' answer for gay marriage, was the best "call it what you want, marry who you want", I like Ron Paul, not only because he voted against the Iraq war from the beginning and he voted against the Patriot Act (and he's a constitutionalist). Hillary Clinton voted FOR both. Libertarians are the way to go. Get government out of our lives and moral issues.
"I only ask that you guys please do not choose the democrat because they are a democrat and hate the republican because they are a republican. "---I dislike both, because they have done NOTHING for our country for almost 8 years. Both parties are complete jokes.
